Enyaq beats rivals for value to take Carwow award

The new Škoda Enyaq, along with the Elroq and Kodiaq have added to their impressive tally of titles by driving off with a category award along with two further Highly Commended honours in the 2026 Carwow Car of the Year Awards.

Leading the silverware charge was the Enyaq, which scooped the Smart Spender title thanks to its exceptional value for money. Škoda’s first purpose-built electric car saw off tough competition to take the top spot with the judging panel praising the family SUV’s exceptional all-round ability and driving dynamics.

Explaining why the Enyaq won, Chief Content Officer Mat Watson said: “Gauging value-for-money can be tricky - pricing and finance deals change all the time, so I asked our leasing partner, Carwow Leasey, which models really stood out this year for being consistently fantastic value. The all-electric Škoda Enyaq was the biggest highlight. Not only has it been reliably low cost and great value to lease throughout 2025, it’s also a brilliant car - long-range, practical and good to drive.”

The Kodiaq, meanwhile, repeated its 2024 performance by being Highly Commended in the Adventurer’s Choice category. The ultra-practical seven-seater won the hearts of the Carwow judging panel thanks to its go-anywhere ability and family-friendly cabin. “If you want almost all of the capability of a big, expensive SUV, but without the high price tag or huge running costs, then a Škoda Kodiaq is the car for you.” Explained Mat Watson.

Completing a hat-trick of Carwow distinctions for Škoda, the Elroq was recognised with a Highly Commended honour in the Family Values category. Škoda’s newest and most affordable all-electric SUV scored highly with the Carwow judges, with the team highlighting the Elroq’s attention to detail and long driving range. Commenting on the Elroq’s award, Mat Watson said: “The Škoda Elroq is one of those cars that I almost didn’t even need to drive to tell you what it would be like – but predictability is no bad thing. I just knew from the outset it’d be like a smaller version of the already brilliant Enyaq, which means it’s comfortable, spacious, and loaded with trademark ‘Simply Clever’ features which are absolutely inspired. Up to 360 miles of range and a comfortable ride complete the package.”

Škoda is no stranger to collecting Carwow award with the Superb winning the Comfortable Cruiser category last year and the Kodiaq taking a Buy It award in 2023.

In 2025, Škoda has enjoyed an exceptional year of recognition across the UK automotive industry, collecting several major titles. The brand was named Manufacturer of the Year at the Great British Fleet Awards 2025, where it also secured key category wins with the Kodiaq taking Best Fleet Large SUV and the Superb crowned Best Fleet Executive Car of the Year. The momentum continued at the Auto Express New Car Awards 2025, where Škoda triumphed with four category wins, led by the all-electric Elroq, which not only won Best Mid-Size SUV but was also named Overall Car of the Year. Meanwhile, at the UK Car of the Year Awards 2025, the Superb added to its growing trophy cabinet by being named Best Family Car, reinforcing Škoda’s reputation for delivering style, practicality and value across its range.
