Fabia named Best Supermini & Octavia Best Estate
Škoda is celebrating a standout performance at this year’s Auto Express Used Car Awards, driving away with two major category wins that underline the brand’s enduring appeal in the pre-owned market. Škoda once again impressed judges with models that deliver real-world value for buyers looking to maximise their budgets. These latest honours reaffirm the brand’s strength where it matters most to buyers: long-term quality and everyday dependability.
Leading the charge to Auto Express silverware was the Fabia, which was named Best Supermini and was awarded third place overall in the final rankings. Highlighting the Fabia’s strengths and explaining why it proved unbeatable, Auto Express Editor Paul Barker said: “With its roomy cabin and on-board tech, the Fabia isn’t lacking when it comes to showroom appeal, while the light controls and compliant suspension make light work of the longest drives. If you do a lot of miles, we’d suggest one of the range-topping SE L editions, with luxuries such as dual-zone climate control, navigation and cruise control. The Octavia delivered another standout performance, beating strong rivals to claim the title of Best Used Estate. This latest accolade adds to the Czech favourite’s impressive collection of industry awards, earned through its unbeatable blend of space, practicality and value. Long regarded as one of the most complete estate cars on the used market, the Octavia’s victory came as no surprise to the Auto Express judging panel. Editor Paul Barker said: “Whether you want economy, luxury or sportiness, there’s something in the Octavia line-up for you. Whichever engine or gearbox you go for, you’ll have a car that’s ultra-practical, incredibly easy to live with and should cost buttons to run. Comfy, well made and well equipped, the Octavia Estate really can be the perfect family car.”
Not to be outdone, the third-generation Superb was also recognised by the Auto Express team. Summing up its appeal to buyers looking for sector-best space and practicality, the judges said: “The third-generation Superb is one of the most spacious family cars you can buy. There’s loads of room for five people and their luggage, while you get great value and solid build quality, efficient engines and lashings of standard equipment.”

These latest used car awards come just months after Auto Express honoured Škoda’s new car range with a host of titles. In July, the Škoda Elroq was named Car of the Year 2025 and Best Mid-size SUV. The Octavia scooped the Family Car of the Year title, while the Superb and Kodiaq both triumphed in the Estate Car of the Year and Large SUV of the Year categories respectively.
