New Skoda vRS launch night at Derek Slack Motors
A world record breaker has arrived at Derek Slack Motors showrooms for tonight’s (19 November) new vRS Octavia launch celebrations. The supercharged ŠKODA Octavia vRS, which broke the world record for the fastest, ever 2.0-litre production car is now in our showroom along side the latest model.
The ŠKODA’s Octavia vRS drove into the history books on Friday 19th August, 2011 at 07:45am, when the 600 bhp ‘salt spec’ racer – built to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iconic vRS performance flagship badge – registered a Southern California Timing Association (SCTA) sanctioned speed of 227.080 mph on Utah’s Bonneville Salt Flat.
Tony Slack, dealer principle at the Skoda dealership on Cargo Fleet, Middlesbrough said, ‘We’re delighted to have the actual Octavia vRS Richard Meaden reached the record speed on Utah’s legendary Bonneville Salt Flat. The vehicle will be with us for the entire week no doubt attracting a lot of attention from motoring enthusiasts. We’ll also have some of the actual props used in the ''Not your every day family car'' vRS commercial.
